Meet Doctor Joshua Masters
The relationships are really what I value with dentistry. And I thought about medicine but decided that dentistry would allow me to spend more time with my family and to still nurture relationships with patients. So I appreciate being able to do procedures on patients and treat them and relieve them of pain. But then it also gives me the opportunity to spend time with my family.
The most rewarding part of my job to me is just being able to nurture those relationships with patients. And when they come in and they’re happy with the work they have done, and they want to refer other people to us because they’re so happy with what we’ve done. So I really just appreciate getting to know people and their families. I think one of the best things that we offer at this practice is IV sedation and being able to just make appointments comfortable for people.
A lot of people bring fear from childhood experiences to their dental visits. And I think that they’re relieved to know that we can kind of put them into a more comfortable spot and do away with these past fears and create good experiences where they previously had bad experiences. So I think IV sedation and our training, how we’ve each been trained in that and offer that as a service probably is what we bring to the table the most at this practice.
I think the biggest thing that I offer is I try to make the shots the most pain-free possible. We do that in kind of a different way. We offer two shots, which kind of sounds strange but the first one doesn’t hurt as much as most offices, and then you’re numb for the second shot. So I think people are surprised and sometimes they don’t even feel it at all. So I would say that giving good shots creates the best experiences because once they’re numb they don’t really care what we do because it doesn’t hurt at that point.
