Meet Doctor Sarah Carver
I think from the beginning, I was very, very interested in the healthcare aspect of any kind of occupation. While also being able to consider my artistic abilities too. I want to combine those in an occupation. While also being able to know that I can, the priority being a good family person, being able to incorporate my family, my kids, and my husband to be the priority in my life. And if I could find an occupation that would let me incorporate health care and my artistic abilities, and let me go home and be a part of my family, dentistry just seemed to tick off all of those boxes. And now really being within dentistry and seeing the way that I’m able to help my patients grow from being very timid to let them know that they’re in such a safe place. And I can treat them as part of my family too, who’s really hit the nail on the head and helped me be who I want to be.
The most rewarding part about being a dentist is being able to see patients who are afraid just to even, first, make that first phone call. Knowing that the hardest thing about all of this is being able to walk through the front door of the dentist’s office. And then in the end, have them leave feeling confident in their treatment plan and knowing that they came from a place where people really genuinely care about them in a judgment-free environment. And knowing that they’re going to receive the best care they can have in an environment that makes them feel comfortable.
I’ve had a lot of opportunity to take continuing education classes, and in my experience, we were able to use a lot more advanced dental technology, some of the most advanced dental technology there is, including digital scanning, which we can use for Invisalign. We’ve also used our digital scanning to make impressions rather than using the big, gloopy impression material that is not comfortable at all. And it gives us opportunity to really give patients the best treatment with the most up-to-date technology in dentistry.
I hope all of my patients leave feeling like they’ve come from an empathetic environment, know that we truly care about them as people and not just a treatment plan to fix your teeth, like there’s more to your tooth than just the tooth. There’s you as a human, and we want to take care of you as a human.
