Find Out How to Restore Your Gums
Dr. Sam Muwafaq: So for gum grafts, you have to understand why do we need gum grafts first. So usually people are familiar with the word recession. And the recession, most of the time, requires gum grafts. Most of the time, or sometimes with gum grafts, sometimes it needs a crown coverage to make the tooth longer. But if you have gum recession, for example, especially happens and it’s easier for a patient to see in your front lower teeth. You will notice your gums are going down, and you’ll see the roots. You’ll see like a yellow structure of the roots or a kind of brownish color. You’re like, “Oh, what is that? I have recession.” To fix that, as I said, first we have to address oral hygiene. We need to see the cause. Why did that happen? Once we know the cause, once we address it, get it under control, then we will do a gum graft in that area. Gum grafts is very straightforward, very simple, but yeah, so restorative recessions, we have a lot of options for restorative recessions, so we’re very equipped to handle it here in our practice.
